Tom Wood
Hi, my name is Tom Wood, I am the SOC Food Services Instructor at the Schuylkill Technology Center.
I have been working in the food service industry for over 40 years. After graduating high school I attended Penn State Schuylkill and at the same time I started my first job in the restaurant field. Since then I have worked various jobs to include Line Chef, manager to a district manager for a large restaurant chain. I eventually decided to complete my teaching certification and became a teacher, best choice ever. Today I have the privilege of teaching students the skills needed to obtain a successful career in the food service field. My teaching qualifications are in elementary, special education K-12, supervisory and consumer science. I also run a successful catering business in my spare time. The are a few highlights from my career to help develop our students on a successful career path.
