Ms. Jeanette Tobin
Welcome to my Page! My name is Jeanette Tobin and would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School in Pennsylvania. After high school, I attended Lebanon Valley College(LVC) of Pennsylvania and studied elementary education. I graduated from LVC with a bachelor of science in education. Following graduation, I earned certification in Pennsylvania for elementary education by passing my Praxis test. Shortly after passing the Praxis and receiving my certificate, I secured employment at a privately owned preschool center, as their head preschool teacher and center director. I spent ten awesome years teaching preschool and loved every minute. My duties at the preschool were very diverse, some of those duties were teaching preschool, writing lessons, developing the curriculum, overseeing employees, managing files, and overseeing our yearly state inspections. Due to changes in our economy and the fact that the preschool was privately owned, sadly after ten fulfilling years and hundreds of wonderful families, the preschool had to close its doors.
I am now in my nineth year here at the Schuylkill Technology Center teaching Early Childhood Care and Education. In order to maintain my job as the technology center's Early childhood care and education instructor, I once again had to take and pass a Praxis test. This time the specialty area was Family and Consumer Science. In May of 2014 I earned a Masters of Education in the area of Career and Technical Education. I am loving my experience in career and technical education, not only am I working with an older student base, but I still have interaction with the preschool age students I have learned to love.
