Mr. Scott Allvord
I began teaching masonry at the Schuylkill Technology Center North Campus in 2012. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was employed as a journeyman bricklayer and foreman for the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers local 5 PA (BAC). I worked on large construction projects such as new schools, hospitals, and other institutional and commercial facilities. I am continually studying masonry buildings and the methods in which they are constructed.
I received an Associate of Applied Science degree from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in the study of Masonry Construction Technology. I completed my apprenticeship through BAC Local 5 and received my Journeyman Certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. My certifications include Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30 hour training, Lock-Out Tag-Out, Confined Entry, Basic First Aid, and Power Tool Training.
